WHAT IS EFT?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a body/mind healing method, that uses tapping with the fingertips on specific points of the energy meridians while being “tuned in” to thoughts and feelings. In other words, it is a form of mindful acupressure. It allows to work with physical discomfort, limiting beliefs, and negative emotional intensity – creating the space for shifts and wellbeing to occur.
Developed by Gary Craig, EFT is easily learned and flexible enough to be used by anyone. In its simplest form, EFT often yields profound results.

Focussing on tapping for writers, I have created 10 EFT scripts that address painful issues most writers will encounter (with positive reframes!). The first script on anxiety is written out below. The others are linked files (a work in progress).

EFT Script for Writer’s Anxiety
KARATE CHOP:
Even though I feel anxious, stressed-out and nervous when I think of my writing, that’s the way it is right now
Even though my body is tense and the flow of energy is blocked, I allow myself to relax just a little bit
Even though I have this feeling of impending failure and my heart is pounding, I deeply and profoundly accept every part of me anyway
Now tap on the following points while saying out loud:
EYEBROW: This stress, I am completely stressed-out
SIDE OF EYE: Anxious, nervous, tense, edgy
UNDER EYE: I don’t know what to do, I just can’t write
NOSE: I am overwhelmed, it’s all too much for me
CHIN: This energy blockage in my whole body
COLLARBONE: My writing will be a disaster, so embarrassing
UNDER ARM: I will fail, and everybody laughs at me
TOP OF HEAD: I want to run away.
EYEBROW: I now allow myself to gently relax my whole body
SIDE OF EYE: I am taking a belly breath now (do it)
UNDER EYE: I improve the flow of energy in every part of my body
NOSE: I am a writer, I know that I can do this
CHIN: I get out of my way and trust the flow
COLLARBONE: I find joy in my heart, I love writing!
UNDER ARM: I welcome my opportunity to be creative
TOP OF HEAD: I open the door to my success now. And so it is!
